Roaming Packs

Travel with your kini SIM and keep your Canadian number while using data, calls and texts abroad. Choose a roaming pack for your destination and usage needs—no SIM swap required. 

Before you travel abroad

1. Check your account balance. Make sure you have enough balance to cover the roaming pack you want to purchase. 
2. Text the pack code to 1888. Send the SMS short code for your chosen pack—for example, US15 or ROAMHK8—from your kini line. 
3. Purchase your roaming pack in advance. You may choose to complete your purchase before leaving Canada so you’re ready to connect when you arrive. 
4. When you arrive, enable Data Roaming for your kini SIM.  
5. In Mainland China, manually select CMCC / China Mobile if needed. 
6. In Hong Kong, manually select SmarTone HK/ SMC if needed. 

Remember: your roaming pack expires when your main plan ends, so check your plan’s expiry date before purchasing. 

🇺🇸  US Roaming Packs 

Coverage includes the U.S. mainland, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Each pack includes 50 shared incoming and outgoing call minutes, 50 outgoing texts to any destination, and unlimited incoming texts.  
You can receive calls from anywhere and call Canadian or U.S. numbers.

🗺️  7-Destination Roaming Packs 

One pack covers Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Taiwan, Macau, the UK and the Philippines. 

Each pack includes 20 shared incoming and outgoing call minutes, 50 outgoing texts to any destination, and unlimited incoming texts.  
You can receive calls from anywhere and call Canada or the destination where you are roaming.

🇭🇰  Hong Kong TO-GO Roaming Packs 

Connect to the SmarTone HK network while travelling in Hong Kong. 

Call minutes cover incoming calls from anywhere and outgoing calls to Canada or Hong Kong. Text allowances are shared between incoming and outgoing texts to/from Canadian or Hong Kong numbers.

If you already receive free Hong Kong roaming data through Data Appreciation Rewards - Roam Hong Kong for free, you can purchase a TO-GO pack for calls, texts or additional data. The free roaming reward covers data only. 

• After disabling automatic network selection, your device may take 10–30 seconds to search for available networks. Please allow some time for the connection to complete. 
• If "SmarTone HK" does not appear in the network list, try turning Airplane Mode on and off once, or restart your device and try again. 
• Once connected to SmarTone HK in Hong Kong, please ensure that "Data Roaming" is enabled on your device. 

🇨🇳  Mainland China TO-GO Roaming Packs

Connect to the China Mobile network while travelling in Mainland China. 

Call minutes cover incoming calls from anywhere and outgoing calls to Canada or Mainland China. Text allowances are shared between incoming and outgoing texts to/from Canadian or Mainland China numbers. 

• After disabling automatic network selection, your device may take 10–30 seconds to search for available networks. Please allow some time for the connection to complete. 
• If "CMCC" does not appear in the network list, try turning Airplane Mode on and off once, or restart your device and try again. 
• Once connected to CMCC in Mainland China, please ensure that "Data Roaming" is enabled on your device. 

Important things to know 

• Packs expire with your main plan, up to 30 days. Purchasing a pack does not start a separate 30-day validity period. 
• Packs do not renew automatically. When your data, voice minutes or SMS allowance is fully used, roaming service will automatically stop. No additional charges will be incurred. You may purchase another roaming pack at any time.

• Continuous roaming usage in the same destination for more than 120 days may result in temporary network access restrictions in accordance with fair usage policies. If you require assistance, please contact kini customer support. 
• Service depends on local coverage, device compatibility and roaming partner conditions.
